Georgian Overview
Our original panelling design has a reeded or "Butt and Bead" type joint. This is intended to replicate traditional tongue and grooved wide boards. It is a classic example of how good design follows function. The "bead" - with a small gap either side - cleverly disguised (or at least reduced the impact of) the boards shrinking in the dry heat caused by open fires. Less well seasoned modern day timber, combined with central heating, is even more prone to shrinkage, so our MDF sheets are the perfect solution to the problem. Vertical grooves make this design ideal for use in bathrooms, and other rooms where it is desirable to give the impression of higher ceilings – for example, confined hallways and low ceilinged rooms.
